Boss’s Day is October 16
Recent studies have shown that the average adult spends one-third of their waking hours in a workplace. With so much of our life invested at the office, the relationships with the people we work with become very important. And the person who generally sets the tone for any place of business is the boss in charge. If you have a great boss, it can make all the difference in the world.
National Boss’s Day is October 16, and gives us the opportunity to thank those employers, supervisors and bosses who lead with professionalism and competency. At Adrian Durban Florist, we have the plants, floral designs and gifts that will show them your appreciation with beauty and style.
Did You Know? National Boss’s Day was an idea dreamed up by Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance. She felt that a day set aside to enhance employee/employer relations would make the workplace more positive for everyone. She proposed the idea in 1958, and Illinois Governor Otto Kerner signed to make the day official in 1962.
Green plants are an excellent choice to thank your boos for being so awesome. They fit into virtually any office decor, are long lasting and easy to care for, and will be a reminder of your appreciation for months to come. If you want to give your boss a more extravagant gift, get together with your coworkers and send a delicious gourmet gift basket.
Characteristics of a Great Boss: Successful supervisors generally give opportunities for ongoing learning, advise of advancement opportunities, give the credit to their people for good work but take responsibility for the mistakes, and feel free to show their humanity to their team.
