In February 2018, the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter, and that prediction has come true for much of the country. Storms in the west and snows in the east have done their best to chase away the spring, which has made flower deliveries from Adrian Durban Florist of central Ohio all the more welcoming. Secret Santa, Yankee Swap, White Elephant . . . Whatever you call it, the gift swap is a popular game (and tons of fun) to play during the holiday season. And not only is it a great way to bring a group together to celebrate the holidays, but it solves the problem of how to exchange gifts without leaving anyone out or breaking the bank. We here at Adrian Durban Florist get behind anything that revolves around coming together to offer gifts, especially when that involves the cloak of anonymity and surprise. No matter who spearheads the holiday decorating effort in your office, it probably involves pulling out the decor you have in storage somewhere from last year. Often, decking the workplace halls can be an occasion to relax with your colleagues, where you put on the Christmas music and break out the candy. Even the Scrooge-iest of coworkers has to admit - there's something really nice about seeing the office all dressed up for the holidays.

There are a dozen ways to honor our military this Veterans Day, whether you're heading to Cincinnati Public Library's annual celebration, joining one of the 5K runs or simply spending time with your beloved vet at home. We've been celebrating our country's finest in some form or another on November 11 since 1919, showering them with the attention and respect they deserve. Marches, parades and other festivities have historically been the way to do this, ever since President Calvin Coolidge called upon us to observe the holiday and offer our thanks. Adrian Durban Florist is doing its part to help you express your gratitude to someone who deserves it as well. Read More about Deliver Pride this Veterans Day »

October 21 is Sweetest Day, and gives us all the opportunity to identify people in our own lives who may need a little encouragement. Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild. ~Welsh Proverb
Grandparents Day is observed on the first Sunday after Labor Day, and is a time set aside to celebrate the very special relationship between grandchildren and their grandparents. This is the perfect opportunity to teach children about the wisdom and experience that older generations can offer to their families, and to society in general. Marian McQuade, who was instrumental in establishing the holiday, wasn't interested in it being a big commercial holiday. Instead, she wanted Grandparents Day to be a time to celebrate family, and her vision was to see families gathering, holding family reunions, and spending time together.
