GROWING A BUSINESS: George and Mary Durban opened a greenhouse, then a flower shop, in Clifton and Northside in 1899, with horticultural experience Mr. Durban had gained as gardener for the Rawson family in Clifton. The company is now operated by their great-grandchildren, Beth Durban and her brother, CEO, Kerry Durban. The Durbans purchased Adrian Florist and in 1955 combined the two names in 1990.
BRANCHING OUT: There are now three Adrian Durban locations: Clifton, Symmes Township and Blue Ash.
FRESH SITE: The company has just redesigned its Web site, www.ADFlorist.com, to provide a few more conveniences for customers. Those placing an order now get a confirmation number and total amount for each purchase. A new “Call Me” feature ensures that a person needing more attention gets a telephone call from the florist within 15 minutes.
